Battle of the Books 2019 has launched!
Together teams read the entire list (see below) of Battle Books and then come together in the spring to "battle" over their knowledge about the books they read. Have you joined a team? It is not too late. If you are not sure how to join or connect, stop by and talk with the librarians or Ms. Killian.

Summer Reading at the Fairfax County Public LibraryMany studies have found that reading for pleasure is beneficial for kids in many ways including keeping up their reading skills over the summer and helping them succeed in school.
Fairfax County Public Library helps make reading fun by providing tools, access and incentives during its Summer Reading Adventure. Held in cooperation with Fairfax County Public Schools, the Summer Reading Adventure runs June 23 through September 2 and invites all children—birth to high school—to read for fun over the summer. This year’s theme is “Reading By Design.” To participate, register online or visit a branch beginning June 23. Click here for more information. |
The Great Herndon Middle School Book SwapEvery student gets to take home a book to start off their summer reading.
